SK Author Workshops – Promoting Inclusion, Diversity, and Neurodiversity in Education
SK Author Workshops, a project proudly supported by Supporting Hub CIC, is an educational initiative led by an experienced teacher and former Assistant Head. The programme delivers interactive, curriculum-linked workshops across educational settings ranging from Early Years (nursery) to Primary (Key Stage 1 and 2).
The workshops are centred around a series of neurodivergent- friendly and culturally inclusive children’s books that celebrate diversity and representation. Through engaging storytelling, sensory activities, and creative interaction, pupils are encouraged to explore themes of identity, respect, and belonging.
Each book is designed to support educators with complimentary e-resources, enabling continued learning beyond the workshop.
The resources are aligned with key curriculum areas, including Religious Education (RE), Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE), British Values, and Early Learning Goals.
This initiative aims to extend its reach to schools and educational settings nationally, fostering a culture of respect, tolerance, and acceptance. By promoting inclusive education and cultural understanding from the earliest years, SK Author Workshops seeks to contribute towards building a more compassionate and equitable society.
